Snowman for Fryern Infants School

Work started on a Snowman in November 2019 and was completed in December. The children threw balls through the holes at the school’s Christmas fayre.

The school painted the snowman and they sent us a picture of the completed article. They have named him Alan.

Why Alan? - Dave Caddy explaines...

"Alan Shackyady had lost his wife suddenly and joined the shed about 6 months after we started the Train project. He was the first to start work cleaning the machines of the Hexagon’s workshop as some were getting rusty and did not work well. He developed cancer soon after and could only sit and watch as we built the train engine for the play group. He died just before we finished it. We named the train after him. Leah, from Fryern Infants School, had seen the engine and asked why Alan? I told her the story and she said that’s what they would call the Snowman."
